carving acorns

I’ve been fixated lately on Roman intaglios - especially the ones that are engraved on amethyst or carnelian and look like delicious artful little cough drops.

Makes me want to create my own precious little engravings - acorns start off soft and are easy to carve, but you can leave them in your hot car for a while and they’ll harden into a satisfying almost ivory-like feel
